In the next stretch of road, from Port August to Eucla, I document what I ate in a day. 960km meant there was very little time for stopping and most of the food had to be eaten while driving.
In Australia it is extremely dangerous to drive during and after dusk due to the kangaroos. They congregate around the side of the road during these times to munch on the greenest grass. Moisture gathers on the roads, meaning the greenest vegetation is just on the edges. When you drive along at night, all you can see is their eyes reflected and the frequent bouncing shapes in front of you. Due to this, the drive had to be completed during daylight hours!

Breakfast : Avocado on Toast
- Red Onion
- Salt & pepper
I prefer to toast my bread and add all the vegetables on top. You can always add lemon.
- Passion fruit
Since the drive included crossing from South Australia to Western Australia, where they have extremely strict quarantine laws. Most fruit and vegetables are not allowed across the border as they could harm the agriculture industry. (How? by spreading viruses… or something). Funnily enough meat, processed foods and dairy are all allowed. Unhelpful for a vegan.
